2. The platform
iCars Autos operates a website offering: (a) Purchase — browsing and enquiring about vehicles for sale (Foreign Used, Local Used); and (b) Lease — weekly/monthly vehicle leasing with online account, booking, and payment coordination.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use this platform. To lease a vehicle, you must hold a valid, active driver's license recognized by the DVLA (Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority) of Ghana.
4. Accounts
An account is required to lease a vehicle (not required for Purchase enquiries). You may sign up using Google sign-in or an email and password. You agree to provide accurate information and are responsible for activity under your account.
5. Purchase enquiries
No account is required to browse or enquire about vehicles listed for sale. Submitting an enquiry does not reserve a vehicle or guarantee price/availability — these are confirmed directly with you by iCars Autos following your enquiry.
6. Leasing
6.1 Booking
To book a vehicle, select your desired car and dates. You will be shown an order summary ("invoice") including the lease amount and refundable security deposit, and must confirm your agreement before the booking request is submitted.
6.2 Security deposit
A refundable security deposit is required for every lease, calculated from the vehicle's weekly lease price:
- Standard vehicles: 100% of the weekly lease price
- Premium vehicles: 150% of the weekly lease price
This applies whether you lease weekly or monthly. The deposit is held to cover outstanding charges that may arise during your lease — including vehicle damage, fuel shortfall, excessive cleaning, traffic penalties, or other amounts payable under this agreement — and is not an additional rental charge. The remaining balance, if any, is refunded after the vehicle is returned and inspected, subject to these Terms.
6.3 Payment
Payment is made via Mobile Money, using the details provided to you after your booking request is submitted. A booking request is held for 24–48 hours pending payment; if payment is not received within that window, the request expires and the dates become available to other customers.
6.4 Late payment
Lease payments have a 1-day grace period after the scheduled payment date. After the grace period, a daily late fee applies:
- Standard vehicles: 5% of the weekly lease price per day
- Premium vehicles: 7.5% of the weekly lease price per day
Late fees are shown separately from your lease payment.
6.5 Vehicle return & unauthorized overstay
You must return the vehicle by the agreed end date, unless an extension has been approved by iCars Autos in advance. If the vehicle is not returned and no extension has been approved, an unauthorized overstay charge applies, calculated as: (weekly lease price ÷ 7) × 1.25 (Standard) or × 1.5 (Premium), per day overstayed.
6.6 Cancellations
If you cancel a confirmed booking before pickup:
- More than 72 hours before pickup: full deposit refund
- Between 24 and 72 hours before pickup: 10% of the deposit is forfeited
- Less than 24 hours before pickup or no-show: 50% of the deposit is forfeited
iCars Autos may, at its sole discretion, waive a cancellation fee on a case-by-case basis; this is not a right you can require us to exercise.
6.7 Identity verification
Identity and driver's license verification for leasing is currently carried out in person at vehicle handover, or through a third-party channel — not collected through this website. This section will be updated if online identity verification is introduced in future, and you will be notified of that change.
7. Vehicle Owner Lease Program
Vehicle owners registering a car to be leased out through iCars Autos must, as a condition of participation, provide a working GPS tracker fitted to the vehicle and maintain comprehensive insurance covering it for the duration it is leased through the platform.
8. Prohibited use
You agree not to: provide false or misleading information; use a leased vehicle for any unlawful purpose; sublease, resell, or transfer possession of a leased vehicle to a third party without our prior written consent; or otherwise misuse the platform.
9. Liability
We take reasonable care in listing and describing vehicles but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of any specific vehicle. Vehicles are leased/sold on an "as described" basis. To the fullest extent permitted under the laws of Ghana, iCars Autos's liability arising from use of this platform is limited accordingly.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana, including the Electronic Transactions Act, 2008 (Act 772). Any dispute arising from these Terms is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Ghana.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
